Gluten Free French Toast Recipe
My french toast recipe is topped with homemade fruit syrup.
This french toast uses gluten free bread, almond milk, and sugar free sweeteners. Perfect with a fried egg or uncured turkey bacon.
(Try Zucchini Bread from Deland Bakery for one of my favorites, or Millet & Flax Bread from Sami's Bakery if you can't find a bread you like by shopping locally. Both Deland and Sami's are in Florida. I believe they ship.)
4 organic or vegetarian eggs
1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (or your favorite unsweetened, non-dairy milk)1 tsp. pure vanilla extract (alcohol free is preferred)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbs. Xylitol
1 scoop Stevia, or tiny pinch Stevia (optional
Thoroughly whisk, beat or blend the eggs until the consistency is almost uniform.
Add almond milk and thoroughly whisk, beat or blend.
Soak bread slice for 1-2 minutes for best results.
Remove with tongs and place on oiled (olive oil or coconut oil), pre-heated frying pan (Medium heat; 340 for electric fry pan)
Cook approximately 2 minutes per side or until evenly golden brown.
